Production Operator

An Operator will perform metal forming operations in addition to various general labor tasks such as sorting, loading of materials and packaging work in process and finished goods. The operator is also responsible for identifying and communicating potential quality defect and participating in improvement activities.

Successful operators will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Understand and follow directions
  • Maintain strong attention to detail
  • Effectively use micrometers, calipers and various other measuring and gaging tools
  • Lift up to 50 pounds

First shift | Monday – Thursday (Overtime Opportunities on Friday) | 5:00am until 3:30pm | Starting at $12.50/hour

Second shift | Monday – Thursday (Overtime Opportunities on Friday) | 3:30pm until 2:00am | Starting at $14.50/hour

Weekend shift | Friday – Sunday | 5:00am until 3:30pm | Starting at $16.62/hour

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Collaboration with engineering and operations throughout all phases of APQP including PPAP approvals, working with the team to verify manufacturing processes and confirm process capability
  • Work closely with Quality Engineer and analyzes statistical data and determines conformance to product specifications
  • Support training activities related to product quality
  • Support investigation and resolution of customer complaints regarding quality
  • Support development and implementation of document detailed procedures and work instructions used throughout the organization
  • Support the maintenance of quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures
  • Support/Lead/Facilitate quality related issues from investigation and containment through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value-added waste resulting from non-conformance’s, scrap, or reclaim
  • Supports and maintains business systems and policies necessary to achieve and maintain ISO 9001-2008, TS 16949, and ISO 14001
  • Supporting and creating Control Plans and process FMEA
  • Support for quality control and hold notice process
  • Responsible for escalating quality issues and engaging support as needed
  • Responsible for learning new systems, processes, and concepts to increase responsibility over time
  • Interacts with co-workers at all levels of the organization building and maintaining a positive team approach
  • Administrative duties as required: email correspondence, paperwork, filing, completing forms and checklists

Successful candidates will meet these requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written and be able to act as primary liaison for parts assigned with internal, customer, and supplier stakeholders
  • Demonstrated sense of ownership for production, quality, and safety

  • Excellent time management skills to balance day-to-day and long-term priorities while managing normal interruptions
  • Logical reasoning, processing, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement behaviors
  • Associate Degree in a relevant field preferred (job experience in similar position may be considered). ASQ Quality, Reliability, or Yellow/Green/Black Belt certifications are a plus
  • Manufacturing/Mechanical aptitude with tooling and gages, complex machines, assemblies, and systems
  • Working knowledge of lean principles and mistake proofing techniques (Prevention emphasis over Detection) and their impact on Quality Assurance
  • Intermediate knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office, Database and Data Analytics
  • Knowledge of measurement methods and selection
  • Exposure to Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving using A3, 8D, 5 Why’s or other formal corrective action tools
  • Project experience including progress tracking, communicating status to team members and relevant stakeholders
