Production Team Lead

A Team Lead will supervise the activities within the assigned production cell. They will ensure training for Team Members and lead operations by issuing daily assignments to the members in their assigned cell. The Team Lead will maintain hourly production boards and report to management the operational metrics of their assigned cell. They will communicate company goals with their team and strive to assist in meeting those goals through training, coaching, and problem solving.

Successful operators will demonstrate the ability to:

Production Group Leader

The Production Group Leader has the primary leadership and supervision role over 2-5 team leaders whose work teams can combine for up to 20 team members. They hold responsibility for developing and improving the work systems which enable the successful achievement of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale. Their consistent emphasis in this pursuit is the development of a principle-based culture that enables and delivers sustainable results in each of those areas.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Departmental competency management including the on-boarding, on-going training, and performance of assigned areas
  • Employee administrative duties to include time and attendance, managing vacation requests, approval of overtime, and adherence to company policy
  • Development and use of Standardized Work and Job Instructions and holding accountability to those standards
  • Team Leader development and performance, perform Team Leader standard work in absence when Team Leader is unavailable
  • Leading by positive example, maintaining composure in difficult situations, and communicating in a respectful manner
  • Hiring of new Team Members by interviewing, providing tours, and evaluating candidates
  • Production planning/scheduling and execution, directing daily activities to adherence with hourly follow-up
  • Monitoring quality and scrap for their Team Leads and Team Members by verifying through quality checks and working cross-functionally with appropriate departments
  • Communication of the needs of the team across functions and shifts
  • Monitoring and reporting downtime, engage Maintenance and Team Members to assist, and prioritize conflicting support needs to address downtime
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives for safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Problem solving and the development of their team using standard problem solving tools and methods

Basic Qualifications:

Production Welder

The Production Welder will perform MIG welding of steel assembly components. They will also perform metal forming operations in addition to various general labor tasks such as sorting, loading of materials and packaging work in process and finished goods. The Production Welder is also responsible for identifying and communicating potential quality defect and participating in improvement activities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • MIG welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel.
  • Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
  • Change shielding gas tanks and welding wire as needed.
  • Weld in a variety of positions.
  • Setup a welding machine based on the specific job.
  • Produce quality welds according to prints (weld symbols).
  • Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required per work instructions or as instructed by Q.A. department or Supervisor
  • Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location.
  • Communicate with co-employees between processes to assure proper flow of work.

Personnel Responsibilities

  • Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment. Problem-solve and take corrective action.

Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Buyer

This position is responsible for working with the Purchasing Supervisor to, effectively and efficiently, maintain and control stockroom inventory and material flow to provide operation support to all departments. This position focuses on inventory management and order purchasing and fulfillment for internal customers; primarily Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO).

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Timely one-time and repetitive purchase of materials and supplies related to the operation of MRO, including but not limited to: PPE, facility supplies, metals for tooling, office supplies, cleaning supplies, boxes, oils and lubricants by creating purchase orders through requisition process following up as needed
  • Managing incoming stock items, addressing receipt discrepancies, organizing and storing, distributing appropriate paperwork (compliance records, SDS, receipts)
  • Purchase and inventory management of company store and branded materials or clothing
  • Finding cost effective solutions for scope of work and tracking purchasing savings
  • Managing and controlling waste, shrinkage, and aging materials and supplies
  • Work cross-functionally for approval, by level, of supplies and purchases
  • Tracking and reporting of supplier on-time-delivery
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels using current system database and report as required
  • Perform manual/physical cycle counts of inventory and managing discrepancies

Education, skill and experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
